On January 16, 2021, the 2020 Annual Meeting of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Biomedical Technology of Nanjing University and the Engineering Research Center for Protein and Polypeptide New Drugs of the Ministry of Education was successfully held in the International Conference Center of Nanjing University. Ji Yong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Life Sciences of Nanjing University, Zhang Chenyu, Dean of the School of Life Sciences of Nanjing University, Ding Jianping, researcher of the Center for Excellence in Molecular and Cell Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology) attended the meeting. The meeting was co-hosted by Dong Xianchi, Director of the Engineering Research Center for Protein and Polypeptide New Drugs of the Ministry of Education, and Dong Lei, Vice President of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Biomedical Technology of Nanjing University.

Ji Yong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Life Sciences of Nanjing University, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the meeting, expressing a warm welcome to the guests. He hoped that with this annual meeting as a bridge, the high-end innovative medicine research and development and artificial intelligence field of science and technology elite and investment elite, unite strong social capital, through multi-party cooperation, co-construction and sharing, jointly promote the implementation of our research and development achievements, and feed back the basic theoretical research work.

Ding Jianping, a researcher from the Center for Excellence in Molecular and Cell Sciences (Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that at present, China has taken human health as the main research direction, which has a broad development space for the Engineering Research Center of Protein and Polypeptide New Drugs of the Ministry of Education. He hopes that young experts and scholars can do both "publishing papers" and "doing transformation", and turn what they think into practical efforts and efforts, so as to make greater contributions to the field of protein and peptide.

During the meeting, Professor Yan Chao, executive dean of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Biomedical Technology of Nanjing University, reported the research achievements made by the Institute since its establishment in March 2019 and the progress of the new building of the Institute.

In this meeting, Hu Honggang, vice president of the Institute of Translational Medicine of Shanghai University, Wang Jun, vice president of the School of Physics of Nanjing University, Zhou Yi, general manager of Shenzhen Innovation Investment Group Co., LTD., Shi Minlong, vice president of Jinsrui Biotechnology Co., LTD., Professor Li Yan of the Institute of Model Animal Research of Nanjing University and Professor Zheng Peng of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Nanjing University, respectively made wonderful academic reports, introducing the research achievements of protein and polypeptide disciplines in different research fields. Finally, experts, scholars and capital elites had a warm exchange and discussion, hoping to gather all forces to create a smooth transformation chain from basic research and development, capital support, enterprise production and people's livelihood, and quickly create a drug research and development project in the pharmaceutical industry in Jiangbei New Area, truly realizing the promotion and leading role of university research forces in local industry.
